SurferQuest showcased at HITEC in New
Orleans, June 24-26th 2004
SurferQuest recently had the opportunity to showcase their
unique state of art computer hardware and software systems
at the HITEC (The Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition
and Conference) show in New Orleans, June 24-26th 2004.
"It was encouraging to see such a good attendance at
this year's HITEC despite the overall depression in the
economy and corporate travel restrictions," said Frank
Wolfe, CAE, HFTP's executive vice president and CEO. "This
signifies that the industry still places a high importance
to progress and thinks of HITEC as a place to learn about
the latest trends."
One of the "must see" technologies this year was
located at the SurferQuest booth. The number of attendee's
who spent considerable amounts of time at the booth was
much higher than at many other hospitality shows. Donald
Armstrong (a seasoned veteran in the hospitality industry)
said of SurferQuest, "Every hotel should offer this...I
can leave my laptop at the office and still be productive
from the road!" or "Finally...a computer solution
that guests want and the hotel keeps 100% of revenue!"
This type of sentiment and enthusiasm over all the great
technology products showcased at HITEC 2004 seemed to be
shared by many of the HITEC attendee's this year.
Simply put, SurferQuest is a cutting edge hardware and software
solution which enables the safe and efficient use of computers
in public places. Unlike the many "internet kiosks"
available in the market today, a SurferQuest solution provides
not only internet connectivity, but also the use of a fully
functional computer through a partnership with Dell. Most
important, however, is what happens when the user logs off
the system. SurferQuest automatically "cleans"
the systems hard drive by resetting back to the original
configuration. This means that any private or objectionable
material that may have been downloaded to the system by
the last user will be permanently removed from the system
with no intervention from already overburdened support staffs.
Even malicious behavior such as the downloading of viruses
or the changing of settings will not affect SurferQuest,
taking the hassle out of providing your guests with the
ability to "stay connected" no matter where they
might be.
"HITEC was a phenomenal show for us overall said Donald
Mothersbaugh, VP Sales for SurferQuest. We ended up with
about a 50/50 split between potential clients and other
companies wanting to become resellers of SurferQuest, a
very good sign that we are correctly positioned in the industry
at the right time"
